I'm Daria Borysevych, a photographer from Kyiv, Ukraine, now based in Hamburg. I've been working professionally since 2018, and much of the way I see photography today was shaped by fashion. Working with modeling agencies in Kyiv, Hamburg and Berlin, and spending several years surrounded by fashion, taught me to pay attention to the small things — light, styling, details, and the feeling an image creates. Ich arbeite seit 2018 professionell, und mein heutiger Blick auf Fotografie wurde stark von der Mode geprägt. Die Arbeit mit Modelagenturen in Kyjiw, Hamburg und Berlin und mehrere Jahre inmitten der Modewelt haben mich gelehrt, auf die kleinen Dinge zu achten — Licht, Styling, Details und das Gefühl, das ein Bild erzeugt.
Today, I work with people and businesses, creating portraits, corporate photography, and imagery for real estate and interiors. Heute arbeite ich mit Menschen und Unternehmen und erstelle Porträts, Corporate-Fotografie sowie Bildmaterial für Immobilien und Interieurs.
I like to get to know what I'm photographing before I start thinking about how to photograph it. Sometimes that's a person who doesn't feel completely comfortable in front of the camera, sometimes it's a company looking for images that actually feel like them, and sometimes it's a space with its own character. Bevor ich überlege, wie ich etwas fotografiere, möchte ich verstehen, was ich vor mir habe. Manchmal ist es eine Person, die sich vor der Kamera nicht ganz wohlfühlt, manchmal ein Unternehmen, das nach Bildern sucht, die sich wirklich nach ihm anfühlen, und manchmal ein Raum mit eigenem Charakter.
I want the process to feel easy and collaborative, and the final images to feel considered without being overdone. My background in fashion still influences the way I see light, composition and detail, but what matters most to me is creating photographs that feel natural, confident and right for the person or business they're made for. Mir ist wichtig, dass sich der Prozess leicht und gemeinsam anfühlt und die fertigen Bilder durchdacht wirken, ohne überinszeniert zu sein. Mein Hintergrund in der Mode prägt bis heute, wie ich Licht, Komposition und Details sehe — am wichtigsten ist mir aber, Fotografien zu schaffen, die natürlich, selbstbewusst und stimmig wirken für die Person oder das Unternehmen, für das sie entstehen.
